While there are quite a few forms of woodfiber insulation we will focus on the blown in varietal here. The best option in the US comes from Timber HP in the form of Timberfill. While Gutex makes an equally solid product it ’s harder to get and ships from Germany. These forms of woodfiber come in loose bags and are blown into netted cavities. They are similar to Cellulose but with much less dust, improved moisture dynamics, greater thermal capacity and a lower density needed to avoid settling. All these factory make for a higher performing insulation that is easier to install and a small cost premium.
